This month was un.real. Yes, bold, italicized and underlined because it was e-p-i-c.
About maybe a month and a half ago, Topshop reached out to me to design a few patches for them for their Spring Denim Campaign. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I could be collaborating with an international brand, let alone for my designs and illustrations. I mean I know they say to dream big, but I just never even considered it. The team was so easy to work with and it was so much fun bringing the concepts to life.
We had a one-day launch in U.P. Town Center last March 25, 2017. This is how it worked: you could either choose to purchase new denim (jeans/jackets/etc) or bring your old threads and Topshop would customize them with the exclusive Cool Girls Club patches I designed specifically for them. It was awesome. I even bought my own pair of boyfriend jeans and had my own patches sewn on!
Some people had really cool ideas and had the Buttercup patch sewn on the hips of their jeans like this:
I'll admit, I kiiinda wish I had thought of that myself. It turned out looking so.damn.cool.
We partnered up with Freezer Burn (yes, the ice cream place!!) and they gave away free treats to anyone who spent P1000 or more. I didn't get the name of it, but I had their churro concoction and holyyyyy wow. I'm lactose intolerant so I'm very particular to pick and choose how I spend my lactose cheat meals but this was well worth it! I love churro anything, of course. <3
There was even this cool instant photo printing booth by Instaroid that printed out your instagram photos as long as you used the #meetyournewjeans hashtag! It came out looking like this:
I loved the vintage feel.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience. I'm totally, utterly, beyond thankful I got to do this. It just proves that all you really have to do is start. As long as you are putting yourself out there, you can bet the rest will follow. <3
